Whoooo....!!!
Today's my day off!! Yeah! Yesterday was my third day at work and I'm finding the job to be quite fun, not tiring at all!
You know, actually on my first day there, I went to Vivo at around 8:30 am cuz I had to be present at my workplace at 9. So I was thinking of coming earlier so that I could find the place first. But when I see the directory, no Cold Storage was to be found, only the Vivo Mart. I actually started panicking, I was thinking, 'Oh God, am I in the right place? Did Kelly Services made a mistake? What am I going to do?'
I calmed myself down first by taking deep breaths through my stomach - this technique really works! - and called the branch. My agent, Laurence wasn't in and I had to call back later, a male voice said to me.
So I went down to B2 and sat down on the bench outside and wait for the time to reach 9am and then I called Kelly Services again. Laurence not in again. WTH!! So I ask the woman who answered my call whether there is Cold Storage in Vivo City or not, and she said to try at the marketplace. And so I went. I had to go via the loading entry which is way back at the carpark and I have to walk all the way there.
When I go in, I was then instructed to go to the 2nd floor and when I did, I saw a lady who's obviously of higher authority and I tell her that I was the new cashier. She brought me to the general office and called a lady named Catherine to handle me. I told Catherine that I am from Kelly Services and that I am their new cashier, know she told me? She said that her boss didn't ask Kelly Services to find them a new cashier. By that time, I'm already feeling a bit panic.
And so I called Kelly Services again. They said they will call me but I waited for like 20 mins and at last Catherine game me my punch card and asked me to change into the uniform that she gave me. I went to the staff toilet...man, sooo scary. My heart was beating very fast and I change into the uniform in record time. Ah, I don't carelah whether I'm very messy or not, I just want to get the hell out of that toilet as fast as possible.
I went back to the GO and Catherine gave the apron and cap and led me out to my work place. I had my training by another cashier named Lis. On the first day, I only observe her and help her pack the goods for the customers, and she taught me the basic steps,
On the 2nd day, I had a little hands-on training by a cashier named Sri. She's from Malaysia and quite a freindly person, not like Lis, who is a bit arrogant and laugh like those bitchy kind of laugh. And now on the third day, I had my full hands-on training. Janet, who is the manager, told me that I'm opening my own counter on Friday. Yay! So today, I'm going to rest all that I can as tomorrow will be another busy day.
